The Course

The design and construction of the Montcalm Golf Club was a four-year project spanning from 2000 through 2004. Designed by George Sargent, the 6,927 yard course covers 358 acres of land in the pristine mountain region of Enfield, New Hampshire.

The course is unique and immaculate. Attention to providing pristine playing conditions and maintenance takes precedence over all else. Its entrance is at Exit 15 of NH Interstate 89. This convenient location provides a tranquil setting among hardwoods and pines provides a special exclusive golfing environment and there is no real estate development. The expansive club house compliments the GF Sargent design.

The landscape of the Upper Valley Region of New Hampshire provides outstanding views of mountains, valleys and lakes. The course is panorama of rolling hills of velvet green fairways and greens. One of the most picturesque aspects of the course is the varying colors of green that are created by using four different kinds of grasses and three different types of cuts for the rough.

A private club that is limited to 225 members, Montcalm was awarded a Golf Digest award in 2005 as one of the Top Ten Best New Private Courses in the country, and was again acknowledged in 2007 by the magazine as one of the Best in New Hampshire. It continually receives rave reviews from members and guests who enjoy the complete privacy and exquisite beauty that is Montcalm.

Montcalm is one of George Sargent's most outstanding and highest rated designs, and his design reflects an outstanding solution to the unique and interesting terrain challenges. The result achieves a level of sophistication and atttention to detail that satisfy owner, architect and the members.

GF Sargent Design's adherence to the Donald Ross philosophy of maintaining as much of the natural character as possible, required creative solutions to use the many rolling hills and ravines to an advantage. While the natural terrain provides a challenge to PGA professionals, Montcalm provides playability for all levels of golfer, while emphasizing course managment and shot making skills.
